Yorkshire County Cricket Club was founded on January 8 1863 at the Adelphi Hotel, Sheffield.
The collection includes scorebooks 1863-2010 – a complete run apart from a 3-year gap around 1900. A cricket statistician’s dream, the scorebooks record every match the club played and include all the famous names and feats.

Yorkshire amassed the highest score in county cricket - 887 against Warwickshire at Birmingham. Lord Hawke scored 166 contributing to an 8th-wicket partnership of 292.
At this date the scores reflect the Gentlemen and Players. Players are mentioned only by their surnames, Gentlemen by their initials (or titles).

There are also 100 year’s worth of selection meeting minutes so the make-up of the team can be tracked, as well as annual reports and yearbooks 1893-2010 so fans can review favourite seasons of their youth.
In 2008 Mrs Trueman funded the rebinding of the first Committee Minute Book and Scorebook in memory of Fred Trueman.
